Fresh tracks and a newly opened Snowpark Montafon
As temperatures are way above 0 degrees all over the Alps, you start to believe that somebody wished spring for Christmas. Bluebird, high temperatures and slushy slopes are what to find on the mountains these days, so while we pray for colder weather and more snow, it’s all about enjoying the skiing and get the best out of it.
A small snowfall Wednesday night gave fresh tracks in the high altitude region at Hochjoch. Together with the fellow dane Jens Peter Frederiksen and local Mathias Siegler, we had a great Thursday, drawing lines at the Zamangspitze face and Sennigrat face. Snow was heavy, but definitely some good turns to find!
Also, this weekend Snow Park Montafon opened its doors with one 12-meter kicker, 3 small boxes and a tube to have fun on. Despite the lack of snow, the Snowpark Montafon crew did an amazing job getting the park ready. Jens Peter, local Tobias Lerch and myself spent Saturday and Sunday in the sun, getting a few nice shots.
Now it is time to head home to Denmark for Christmas before returning to Silvretta Montafon at New Years. The only present I want under the Christmas tree is definitely a huge package of snow!
