Introduction to via ferrata

Climb among deep-blue mountain lakes.

Difficulty level: C/D

Ascent: 15 minutes

To access this via ferrata, take the Hochjoch cable car and then follow walking route 4 (Seetalwanderung) from the Sennigrat chairlift midway station or mountain station. The starting point is the Seetalhüsli, where you can hire any equipment you need.

Via ferrata duration: 30 minutes

Length: Cable length 120 meters

Height in meters: 60

Exposure: North

The via ferrata is located in an idyllic location by three mountain lakes on Hochjoch. Halfway along, the route splits into two and therefore offers two variations: Visitors of a more sporty disposition can continue their ascent on the trail, which has a difficulty level of C. Branch off to the right, however, and climbers will make a steep ascent that is partly overhanging, before completing the trail. This route has a difficulty level of D.

Descent: 30 minutes

From the summit, the return journey takes you along the walking trails to the Seetalhüsli, where a well-deserved platter of traditional cold cuts and cheeses await you. And for those of you with energy still to burn, hop onto a stand-up paddle board and row off into the sun.
