Soon it will finally be time: the biking fun on the Hochjoch starts again. But before the fun comes the work - because our team is working flat out to prepare the trails for the summer season.

As soon as the trails are cleared of snow, usually in mid-May, we get to work preparing everything for the summer season. The aim is to open the trail park with all three lines on June 15.

A team consisting of three people is specifically responsible for the trails. The first task is to clear the trails of undergrowth with a rake. Branches that have come down in winter or even trees that have fallen are also cleared from the trails. Afterwards, the trails are then run over with a vibrating machine to stabilize the ground. The signage to the trails and in the trails is also checked and reinstalled after the winter.

Elements that are in or near the piste area are dismantled before winter. The rest, which are located in the forest, are covered for the winter season, then checked again in spring and repaired if necessary.

The team is also always on site during operation, for example to repair damage and keep the trails in good condition. In addition to the trails, they also look after the playgrounds on the mountain and the maintenance of the hiking trails.

The three lines are almost seven kilometers long in total & guarantee fun for the whole family! Safety first - a helmet is therefore a must, and wearing a full-face helmet and protective clothing such as knee and elbow pads is recommended.

At just under 4 km, the Hubertus Trail is the easiest of the three flow trails and starts at the Kapellrestaurant and ends at the Hochjoch Bahn middle station. The ride takes just under 15 minutes and is no problem even for junior mountain bikers.

The Kilka Wald Trail is a little more challenging and is perfect for consolidating your downhill skills. There are 2.5 km ahead of you and the ride takes around 10 minutes.

The Wolfsgruaba Trail is relatively short at 226m, but it packs a punch. Have you already mastered the Hubertus Trail with flying colors and want to challenge yourself? Then make a detour to the medium-difficulty Wolfsgrube Trail on your next descent. The short, medium-difficulty section leads from the Kapellrestaurant to the middle station of the Hochjoch cable car.
