World Cup Montafon 2026
From March 11 to 15, 2026, the Montafon once again becomes the focus of international winter sports. As part of the World Cup Montafon, the best Snowboard Cross athletes will compete in the southernmost valley of Vorarlberg – joined by the Ski Cross world elite, which will return to Montafon for a World Cup race for the first time in six years. While athletes battle for coveted podium places at Grasjoch, visitors can enjoy an exciting supporting program in the valley featuring DJ sounds and live music.
The Grasjoch in the Silvretta Montafon ski resort is already an established meeting point for the international elite of the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup. With its length, the demanding course already meets the requirements for the 2027 World Championships, promising fast heats and close finishes. On March 11 and 12, 2026, Ski Cross athletes will experience the course for the first time.
The Ski Austria team, including the Vorarlberg athletes Sonja Gigler, Nicolas Lussnig and Claudio Andreatta, as well as Katrin Ofner, Johannes Aujesky and Adam Kappacher, will start the competition with excellent prospects.
After a qualification day on Saturday, March 14, an exciting race day for the Snowboard Cross athletes is scheduled for Sunday, March 15. High-level heats and close decisions are guaranteed once again, thanks to the international elite led by local hero Alessandro Hämmerle.
The double Olympic champion and five-time SBX World Cup winner in Montafon leads a strong Snowboard Austria team, which also includes 2023 World Champion and 2026 Olympic bronze medalist Jakob Dusek and the young Montafon athlete Elias Leitner. In the women’s competition, Pia Zerkhold from Lower Austria is aiming for a top placement.
NEW: VIP Ticket for World Cup Fans
Winter sports fans can enjoy the races with the best view along the course and directly in the finish area. For pedestrians, the finish area is easily accessible via a specially prepared winter hiking trail from the Grasjoch cable car mountain station, which takes less than ten minutes.
New this year is an exclusive VIP area in the finish zone, offering the best view of the action and accessible with a VIP ticket on both race days. The VIP ticket also includes:

Entertainment Program in St. Gallenkirch
Away from the race course, St. Gallenkirch will host a diverse entertainment program from March 12 to 15. Various live acts and DJs will provide great entertainment around Silvretta Park Montafon, inviting visitors to celebrate together.
Dress Rehearsal for the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships 2027
This World Cup event not only presents Montafon as a venue for international winter sports but also serves as a “dress rehearsal” for the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships 2027, the largest winter sports event in the history of Vorarlberg.
The event offers an opportunity to further develop organizational processes and prepare the mountain infrastructure specifically for next year’s World Championships. In addition to Grasjoch as a competition venue, five other venues throughout the valley will also be used during the 2027 Championships.
