VINNOVA - Wine enjoyment at an altitude of 2,000 metres
After eight months of construction, Vorarlberg's highest wine bar, the VINNOVA, was officially opened last weekend, Friday 8 December 2017.
After eight months of construction, Vorarlberg's highest wine bar, the VINNOVA, was officially opened last weekend, Friday 8 December 2017. In a modern atmosphere, VINNOVA offers over 100 exquisite wines as well as delicious Alpine tapas with cheese and ham from the region. The new gourmet experience is rounded off by an impressive view of the mountains of the Silvretta Montafon.
"Good wine has conquered mountain gastronomy," said Peter Marko, Managing Director of Silvretta Montafon, at the opening of the new VINNOVA wine bar. Around 100 invited guests attended the opening on Friday 8 December in the new wine bar. They included representatives from the hotel industry and politics, as well as well-known winegrowers such as Christina Bisetta, Gustav Krug and wine specialist Peter Morandell. To the sound of a DJ and saxophone, the guests enjoyed several courses in the form of Alpine tapas, each served with a matching wine. The wine tasting was framed by short presentations from the winegrowers present. The snowstorm raging outside became a minor matter on this day and underscored the modern yet cosy atmosphere of the VINNOVA.
Culinary voyage of discovery in the middle of the ski area
A unique wine bar has been created in the former barn of the Nova Stoba. The VINNOVA not only offers a selection of over 100 exquisite wines, a lounge and bar area and an impressive view of the Heimspitze - it is also Vorarlberg's highest wine bar at an altitude of 2,000 metres. "The VINNOVA is another highlight in the Silvretta Montafon. So far, we have mainly invested in new lifts and snowmaking. With the VINNOVA, we are also breaking new ground in mountain catering. We are appealing to a target group that is not only looking for a sporting experience on the piste, but also wants to experience stylish cuisine on the mountain," says Peter Marko. Jannik Schneider, Head of Gastronomy at Silvretta Montafon, is also delighted with the opening: "In addition to our nine mountain restaurants, we now want to take our guests on a special journey into the world of wine combined with regional delicacies with VINNOVA. An experienced sommelier takes visitors to VINNOVA on a culinary journey of discovery and shares his knowledge of the exquisite wines. In addition to the wide selection of white and red wines, the restaurant not only spoils the palate, but also offers a fantastic view of the Silvretta Montafon mountains from its large window front. This is the perfect combination of alpine experience and gourmet character. If you want to round off your day's skiing with a glass of wine, Alpine tapas or a delicious cup of coffee served by a barista, you shouldn't miss out on a visit to the VINNOVA.
Wine tasting with insider tips
For all those who can't make up their minds from the large wine list, the mountain wine tasting experience is available for the first time. Every Thursday from 14 December 2017 to 5 April 2018, a wine tasting takes place in the new Vinothek. Together with an expert sommelier, guests can immerse themselves in the world of enjoyment at VINNOVA. Under the guidance of the wine specialist, amateur gourmets will learn everything they need to know about the exquisite wines. Three different wines, samples from the cheese range, fresh ham specialities and full-bodied coffee from the portafilter machine will be served for tasting.
There will also be winegrower evenings in the vinotheque on 24 January, 21 February and 21 March 2018. Guests include interesting winegrowers such as the Italian winery Marchesi Antinori or the winegrower Malet from the Kremstal. Guests can unwind with wine and cheese tastings. Incidentally, the VINNOVA can also be hired for exclusive group celebrations.
