Where wine takes root
In the midst of the Alpine scenery, a new place for connoisseurs and wine lovers has created. The new wine bar at 1,850 metres combines wines full of character with family ties to the region. Two selected winemakers, whose family roots reach back to the Montafon, bring not only taste but also a sense of home to the glass with their wines.
Uwe Schneider
Uwe is a winemaker who lives with his wife Daniela Gantner in Schruns and runs the Schneider Wein winery in Graubünden, Switzerland. "Graubünden is kissed by the muse – it's the perfect place to make Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Many winemakers from elsewhere envy us for this," he tells us. In addition to the wines that Uwe produces and sells under his own name, he also presses many private individuals' personal wines – even in small quantities.
Claudia Dietrich-Wekerle
Together with her husband Franz Dietrich and their two sons Martin and Franz-Harald Dietrich, the family runs the winery in Styria. They attach great importance to natural cultivation and careful cellar work in order to produce wines of the highest quality.
Claudia is the daughter of the former mayor of Schruns, Harald Wekerle, which underlines her deep roots in the region.
