A new era is beginning for the Kapellrestaurant at 1,850 metres above Schruns. Known for the fantastic view from the panoramic terrace, it will soon be worth taking a look inside again. The restaurant is being renovated in several stages and made fit for the demands of the gastronomic future.
The path to the Kapellrestaurant 2.0
The go-ahead for the renovation of the Kapellrestaurant was given in spring 2024. The plan is for work to take place in spring and summer, with ‘normal’ restaurant operations possible in winter. All the sanitary facilities in the basement were already renovated at the start of the last summer season.
Now, from spring 2025, the largest construction phase is due to begin: The ground floor will be given a new extension with space for a bar. The stairwell will be renovated and the lift replaced. Over the course of this summer, the upper floor will become the new highlight of the restaurant. Connoisseurs can look forward to a wine bar, a fireside lounge, various parlours and - thanks to the new extension - another sun terrace with a gigantic view.
The self-service restaurant on the ground floor remains untouched at the moment. However, the aim is to renovate it in a further construction phase.
